Digitalization of Water Cycle Management
The project "AquaAlliance. Digitalization for Sustainability" aims to digitalize the water cycle management of 13 municipalities in Alicante from the regions of Alto and Bajo Vinalopó, L'Alcoià and L'Alacantí, which are Agost, Aigües, Algueña, Banyeres de Mariola, Beneixama, Campo de Mirra, Cañada, Castalla, Mutxamel, Onil, Salinas, Sax and Xixona, thanks to the implementation of a series of technological solutions and digital tools that will be the basis for more efficient management of the urban water cycle.
This project is based on implementing the benefits of digital transformation in the urban water cycle, developing a set of actions for planning, sensorization of water and sanitation networks, the implementation of tools for analysis of the information obtained, and applications for the dissemination and utilization of data. All of this is to address the needs of adaptation to climate change, optimize the management of water resources, and contribute to the preservation and improvement of the state of water bodies.
These improvements will also contribute to modernizing and improving the provision of municipal services, adapting them to the current needs of the population and ensuring that the best technologies and means available today are applied.
This ambitious project has a budget of more than 7.8 million euros and will be executed thanks to the aid from the second call of the PERTE for the digitalization of the urban water cycle, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan –financed by the European Union– NextGenerationEU.
